This book attempts to construct bridges of communication and engagement between the fields of archaeology and history focuses on a new understanding of Galilee. Chapter by chapter, Richard Horsley pieces together a picture of social relastions in Galilee that is based upon and helps explain both the artifacts and the texts, and that takes fully into consideration the changing historical circumstances in the time of Jesus and the rabbis.
