"Stereo Sound for Television" covers all operational, perceptional, acoustic, psychological and engineering aspects of stereo sound for television, through microphone techniques and stereo equipment, to distribution and transmission systems. All currently-adopted transmission systems including NICAM 728, BTSC, dual FM system, FM/FM system and the Dolby ADM system are covered. The book aims to be of interest to operators, engineers and management in the field of television. Francis Rumsey lectures on the University of Surrey's Tonmeister degree course in Music with Sound Recording. He contributes to magazines such as "Broadcasting Systems Engineering", "Studio Sound" and "International Broadcasting", and has helped to design stereo sound training courses for television for the Independent Television Association.
