Summary
Follows the lives of a Newfoundland family for several months as they deal with the father's drinking and unemployment, the son's poor choice of friends and subsequent problems, and general familial deterioration
Amazon.com description: Product Description: Fifteen-year-old Christopher Slade's life is going downhill-and fast. His family is torn apart by unemployment, he's failing grade ten, and he can't find a summer job. As Chris gropes for direction, he finds solace in a few beers now and then. Then his scary drinking bouts lead to threat of arrest for a crime he can't remember committing. Work as a counsellor at a summer camp offers the challenge of a fresh start-until Chris encounters his toughest test yet.
