Mary Woolstonecraft was the mother of Mary Shelley the author of Frankenstein. She is best known for her view that women were not inferior to men just less educated. She is considered to be one of the first feminists. Maria focuses on the plight of women in the 19th century. Maria is put into a mental institution so her husband can steal her money. Her child is taken from her. She meets a man, but because the novel is unfinished the reader is left to decide whether the romance would progress or end sadly.

Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars.Delve into what it was like to live during the eighteenth century by reading the first-hand accounts of everyday people, including city dwellers and farmers, businessmen and bankers, artisans and merchants, artists and their patrons, politicians and their constituents.
