What does real, saving faith actually entail? The New Testament repeatedly emphasizes the need for repentance from sin and accompanying good works as evidence of true belief. However, as theologian Wayne Grudem argues in this book, the teachings of the Free Grace movement—which deny that good works need to be present in the life of the justified Christian—undermine the Bible’s teaching regarding saving faith. Drawing from the works of key leaders within the movement, Grudem raises five biblical concerns he has with the Free Grace movement and critiques its central teachings from Scripture and historic Protestantism. In doing so, he helps all Christians understand the true nature of saving faith.

Almost 60 percent of those in American evangelical churches believe that many religions can lead to eternal life. But if Jesus is to be trusted when he says that no one comes to the Father except through him, the church is failing in its mission. And it's not hard to guess why. An exclusive Jesus just isn't popular in our inclusive world.Dr. Robert Jeffress calls on Christians to recover the exclusive claims of the one they claim as Lord and Savior, not as a way to keep people out of heaven but as the only way to invite them in. He tackles questions like - Can people be saved who have never heard of Christ?- What about those who worship God by another name?- Do children automatically go to Heaven when they die? True compassion for non-Christians doesn't lie in letting them go their way while we go ours, but in sharing the only true way with them.

Salvation is the bedrock of our faith and the touchstone for faithful living. It is the good news of God drawing near to us as individuals but also as communities of faith. This book helps us understand that when we say "Jesus saves," we stand on scripture that proclaims a God who, through Jesus, heals, liberates, and rescues. Like each generation that has gone before, we too must find our own awareness and then respond and participate in God’s work as transformed people, serving together as the Body of Christ, who have also signed up for ongoing, personal and social transformation. This book is an invitation to a journey of salvation oriented toward increased understanding but also to transformed commitments, renewed allegiances, and fresh practices. To address the grand narrative of Scripture in a way that takes seriously its essential focus on the journey of salvation is to open ourselves to fresh (and perhaps refreshed) perspectives on the world and, thus, on life in the world. In this book Joel Green show how salvation can illumine new categories for conceiving the world, for making sense of our experiences, and for directing our lives.
