The Empire is being threatened on all sides by barbarians, and Britannia is under constant attack from the Saxons. But the will of self-proclaimed emperor Carausius has risen to the challenge, wishing to see the survival of the Roman Britannia. Military surgeon Justin and his cousin, the centurion Flavius, are at the emperor's service, but they soon discover a conspiracy against the emperor, led by the trusted Allectus. Banished to a far-away battle post, they learn of Carausius's murder and the crowning of a new emperor, the usurper Allectus. Fearing for their lives, they decide to flee and join a secret group of agents working for Rome, with whom they'll prepare the arrival of emperor Constantius's legions and the dethroning of the usurper.

El Imperio vive momentos peligrosos con todas sus fronteras amenazadas por los pueblos bárbaros y Britania está bajo el constante asedio de los sajones.
