Mucky Pup is a bright-eyed, floppy-eared puppy who loves burrowing in the trash can, jumping in the coal bucket, pulling down the tablecloth, and ripping up a cushion until the exasperated farmer's wife sends him outdoors. But none of the other animals will play with him—not the rooster, or the ducklings, or even the cat. That is until he meets a mucky pig who delights in rolling in the mud with him. Just as the farmer's wife comes out to bathe him, the pup falls into the pond, emerges clean, and happily curls up in his basket to dream about his busy day.
