Summaries and Reviews
Amazon.com description: Product Description: Cedar Mesa is actually a Juniper and Piñon Pine covered plateau in SE Utah, mostly famous for Grand Gulch, a sandstone canyon 52 miles long. It is bounded on south by San Juan River, on east side by cliffs, on north it butts up against Abajo Mountains and Dark Canyon Plateau. West it tapers of into drier country. There are many other sandstone canyons, such as Owl, Fish, McLoyds, Lime, Road, and Slickhorn Canyons quite as popular as Grand Gulch. This book includes a large Hiking Guide section for Cedar Mesa and nearby areas and a selection of my interpretations, dreams, and imaginings about Anasazi. Anasazi sites [buildings and rock art] abound in SE Utah, although none are as large or spectacular as those at Mesa Verde [as an example]. Many of these sites on Cedar Mesa are inaccessible without hiking. This book mentions only a few sites by name and, with a few exceptions, exact location info is not given. This is to protect their future. A large selection of photos may be seen online at www.anasazis.com, my companion website.
