The Brain's real name was Benjamin Bang, a child who lived with his parents. His friends called him The Brain because ' .. because he's always thinking up bright ideas. (At least HE thinks they're bright ideas!)' Although he means well what Benjamin calls his brainstorms, which normally involve building gadgets, invariably end in disaster. The main contributor to The Brain was Dan DeCarlo. He is best known for his work at Archie Comics during the late 1950s and early 1960s. He modernized the characters and established the house style.
