Summaries and Reviews
Amazon.com description: Product Description: Henri Lichtenberger (1864-1941) was from 1887-1907 Professor of Foreign Literature in Nancy, from then until 1934 Professor of Literature and German Philology at the Sorbonne. He wrote numerous books on German literature, language, history and philosophy, in particular, his essays on Friedrich Nietzsche, whom he personally visited in 1898. Lichtenberger maintained a lively correspondence with Nietzsche’s sister Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche, who translated our book into German, published in 1899. The two co-authored another biography of Nietzsche, published in 1928 as Nietzsche und sein Werk. He presented a positive picture of the political and economic impact of National Socialism in Germany in his 1936 book L’Allemagne nouvelle.
