: Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States. Besides being President Wilson was President of Princeton University, Governor of New Jersey, an orator, and author. He supported cabinet appointees in introducing segregation in the federal workplace of several departments. His Democratic Congress passed major legislation that included the Federal Trade Commission, the Clayton Antitrust Act, and America's first- federal progressive income tax in the Revenue Act of 1913 and most notably the Federal Reserve Act. Some of the speeches in this collection were given to Congress while others appear to be less formal. However all of the speeches are full of Wilson's political philosophy.
