Summaries and Reviews
Amazon.com description: Product Description: Huckleberry Finn and Mark Twain was conceived as aid to students and general readers although it can be of value to scholars. The author, when on the library staff at Miami University ( Oxford, Ohio), saw the need for a book touching all sides of the famed novelist and his chief novel. This study is the result of more than 30 years of working with its subject. It is a new look at an American classic.

Charles A. Norton, the author of Huckleberry Finn and Mark Twain is the author of several other books: Melville Davisson Post; Man of Many Mysteries (2nd Ed. 2000; 1973); Writing Tom Sawyer, the Adventures of a Classic (1983); Mark Twain and the Jumping Frog: Simon Wheeler and Huckleberry Finn, a Genetic Relationship (1992). His work includes, The Circuit Riders :poems celebrating Bishop Asbury and his itinerant preachers, 1785-1816 (1988); John Wesley in Transit :poems (1991); and a series of chapbooks.

In 1885, over a century ago, the book, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, reached readers in America and England. Soon, it and its companion, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, were read around the world. The popularity of these books continued and grew during the past century. If the current interest in these books is a prophecy, their popularity will continue into this new century and beyond.
