Summaries and Reviews
Amazon.com description: Product Description: Adenographia, or The Description of the Glands of the Entire Body by Thomas Wharton, Fellow of the College (Of Physicians) of London, was first published 'at' London in 1656. It was the first systematic account of the glands of the human body; Wharton himself discovered the duct which carried saliva from the sub-maxillary gland to the mouth, and studied the umbilical cord. He was the first to name the thyroid and jugular glands. This is the first translation to be published, and will be of immense value to those interested in the history of medicine. This book is intended for those interested in the history of medicine.
