Summaries and Reviews
Amazon.com description: Product Description: Building on the success of Clinician's Pocket Reference (over 50,000 copies of the 8th edition have been sold since its publication in 1996) and leveraging the "Swiss Army Knife" appeal of this product, this stand-alone drug manual will be a one-source, information-rich, and extremely accessible guide to the most commonly used medications that are administered to patients on the wards and in the clinic. Meeting the student, resident, and attendee buying trend toward smaller, more current books, this manual will be revised on an annual basis and published each October to reflect the approval of new drugs and changes in uses or dosages of currently available drugs. The 1st edition of the drug manual will be published in conjunction with the 9th edition of Clinician's Pocket Reference (scheduled for 11/01). Purchasing options with Clinician's Pocket Reference should be considered. This book will contribute to and benefit from the strengths of our other titles in pharmacology, notably Katzung: Basic & Clinical Pharmacology, 8/e; Carruthers: Melmon & Morrelli's Clinical Pharmacology, 4/e; and Hardman: Goodman & Gilman's the Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics, 9/e. The PDA version of the manual will be developed in conjunction with the print version and will be targeted for release in late 2001 (to be coordinated with the e-book program within PBG). Possible formats for the electronic product would be NetLibrary, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Reader, and Peanut Reader.
