Seventy-four photographs taken by a Marine Corps photographer during his seven months in postwar Japan are assembled in a visual history of the aftermath of the U.S. bombing raids on Japanese cities, including Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the devastating destruction of the raids, and the struggle of the Japanese to live normal lives under the occupation.
