Presents short biographies and photographs of 152 individuals, all deceased, who have advanced the study of amphibians and reptiles (from the preface). This is the first of three volumes on historic figures in herpetological studies. As this first volume was published in 1989, it is long out of print and has become very scarce. No ownership marks and no signs of use.
